Black Bean Dip

There's a vegetarian fast food place near us called HipCityVeg. The food is good, but my favorite item on the menu is the black bean dip, served in lieu of ketchup for fries and faux chicken fingers. It has a strong salty, umami flavor and it makes everything taste better. I've recreated the dip at home to use with Garedein's faux chicken fingers and potato wedges for a cheaper fast food meal at home. The dip is also great with bread, in burritos, or on baked sweet potatoes.

Black Bean Dip
1 serving

3 Tbsp slow cooked black beans (use this recipe)
3 Tbsp fresh cilantro leaves
6 Tbsp black bean cooking liquid
1/8 tsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp onion

Combine all ingredients in a blender (I used the Magic Bullet) and puree until smooth or desired consistency is acheived.
