Sweet Tortilla Chips

On the sweet salty divide, I am decidedly on the salty side, but every so often, I get a craving for something sweet. I don't keep many sweet things around, because they don't get eaten. That means that when a sweet craving strikes, I have to be creative. Yesterday's craving resulted in homemade cinnamon and sugar tortilla chips dipped in jam. Yum! Homemade tortilla chips are easier to make then you might expect with only a few pantry staples.

Cinnamon and Sugar Tortilla Chips
Serves 2

6 small corn tortillas
1 Tbsp coconut oil or melted butter
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Lay the tortillas out on a baking sheet. Lighly coat the tortillas with oil on both sides. Cut each tortilla into quarters. Sprinkle the cinnamon, sugar, and salt over the tortillas. Bake for five minutes. Flip. Bake for two minutes on the opposite side*. Allow to cool for ten minutes and enjoy with your favorite sweet dip, like Bonne Maman jam.

*If cooking multiple batches, the bake time will decrease with each subsequent batch.
