Super Smoothie

                          

We had a great weekend with a much needed spa day for mommy (yahooooo!). To balance the relaxation, Merle came down with a stomach bug early this morning. Our poor girl :( Fortunately her spirits remained high throughout the day despite the frequent bathroom visit. With her non-existent appetite, it was extra important to keep her hydrated. The easiest way to fill her up and hydrate her was to with smoothies. Like most kids, Merle can't say no to smoothies (or as she calls them "smof-fees"). Here's the basic formula we use. 

Super Smoothie
1 Tbsp Chia Seeds
1 Tbsp Ground Flax Seed
1 Tbsp Almond butter 
1 Banana
1 cup Fruit (or an avocado or an extra banana)
1 cup Milk

Combine in a blender until smooth.

  1. Yum! I love that combo! And I love adding chia seeds to my smoothies because it makes them nice and thick!
