Lemon Basil Sauce

Lemon basil sauce with pasta and pan roasted tomatoes

Since I first made this sauce several years ago, it has been one of my go-to favorites, especially during the spring and summer. I first made it to pair with homemade ravioli like how it was featured in an episode of Everyday Italian on the Food Network. The ravioli was not great, but the sauce was everything I hoped for: simple, flavorful, and fresh. The combination of tart lemon, earthy basil, and rich olive oil balance each other out. I regularly use it on pasta like I've shown here with the addition of pan roasted tomatoes, but it's also a tasty addition to chicken and other veggies.
